By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Service.
Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use account-based features.
By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. What The Adventure Dog App does
The Adventure Dog App is a community-based location discovery service designed to help users discover and share places and activities that may be suitable for visiting with dogs.
Activities may include:
- walking;
- hiking;
- running;
- swimming;
- cycling/biking; and
- stand-up paddle boarding ("SUP").
Users can contribute locations, descriptions, photographs, amenity information, ratings and reviews.
The Adventure Dog App is a discovery and information platform. It is not an outdoor safety service, navigation authority, veterinary service, land-access authority, emergency service or professional guide.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your login details secure;
- activity carried out through your account where reasonably attributable to you; and
- notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must not impersonate another person, create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes or attempt to gain unauthorised access to another account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts in accordance with these Terms.
5. Community information is not verified
Much of the information available through the Service is provided by users.
We do not promise or guarantee that a listed location:
- is safe;
- is publicly accessible;
- is legally accessible;
- remains open;
- permits dogs;
- permits dogs off lead;
- permits swimming;
- permits cycling;
- permits paddle boarding;
- has the amenities listed;
- is accurately located;
- is suitable for your particular dog;
- is suitable for your ability or equipment;
- is free from livestock;
- is free from traffic or other hazards; or
- remains as described by previous users.
Conditions, land ownership, access arrangements and local restrictions can change.
You must independently assess whether a location and activity are appropriate before using them.
6. Your responsibility outdoors
You are responsible for your own decisions, safety, dog and equipment when using information obtained through the Service.
Before visiting a location or participating in an activity, you should consider relevant circumstances including:
- legal rights of access;
- private property and boundaries;
- local bylaws and restrictions;
- signs and temporary closures;
- requirements to keep dogs on leads;
- livestock;
- wildlife;
- roads and traffic;
- terrain;
- cliffs and steep ground;
- weather;
- daylight;
- tides;
- currents;
- water depth;
- water quality;
- blue-green algae and other water hazards;
- temperature;
- your dog's health, fitness and temperament;
- your own fitness and ability;
- suitability of equipment; and
- emergency access.
A listing appearing in the Service does not give you permission to enter private land or undertake an activity that would otherwise be prohibited.
You must respect landowners, other users, wildlife and applicable law.
7. Water activities
Swimming and paddle boarding involve particular risks.
Information appearing in the Service should not be interpreted as confirmation that water is safe to enter.
You are responsible for assessing matters such as weather, tides, currents, water temperature, water quality, underwater hazards, access and exit points, local restrictions and your own and your dog's abilities.
Do not rely solely upon The Adventure Dog App when making water-safety decisions.
8. Cycling and other activities
A location appearing under a particular activity category does not guarantee that the activity is legally permitted or suitable throughout the location or route.
Users are responsible for observing rights of way, local rules, signage and applicable laws.
9. User Content
"User Content" includes material submitted through the Service, such as:
- locations;
- descriptions;
- coordinates;

- ratings;
- reviews;
- reports; and
- other information you submit.
You retain ownership of intellectual property rights you have in your User Content.
10. Licence you give us
By submitting User Content, you grant Adam Christopher Pitchford trading as The Adventure Dog App a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, format, adapt as technically necessary, distribute and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Service;
- display content to users;
- maintain the community database;
- moderate and administer the Service;
- provide and improve Service functionality; and
- promote The Adventure Dog App and its community content.
This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
The licence may continue in relation to content retained following account deletion where reasonably necessary to continue operating the community database or where content has already been incorporated into the Service, subject to applicable data protection law and your legal rights.
11. Your responsibilities for User Content
By uploading or submitting User Content, you confirm that:

You remain responsible for User Content you submit.
12. Photographs and other people
You should take particular care when uploading photographs.
Do not upload photographs that unlawfully infringe another person's privacy, copyright or other rights.
Where identifiable individuals appear prominently in a photograph, you are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate right or permission to submit and publish it.
13. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- submit knowingly false or deliberately misleading locations;
- encourage trespass or unlawful access;
- upload illegal content;
- harass, threaten or abuse another person;
- publish discriminatory or hateful material;
- upload obscene or seriously inappropriate material;
- infringe intellectual property rights;
- unlawfully disclose another person's private information;
- distribute malware or malicious code;
- interfere with the operation or security of the Service;
- unlawfully scrape or harvest user information;
- manipulate ratings or reviews;
- spam the Service;
- submit fraudulent reports;
- attempt to circumvent account restrictions; or
- use the Service for an unlawful purpose.
14. Reviews
Reviews should reflect genuine experiences and relate to the relevant location.
You must not knowingly publish fabricated, malicious or misleading reviews.
We may remove or moderate reviews where we reasonably believe they breach these Terms, are unlawful, irrelevant, abusive, fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate.
15. Reporting and moderation
Users can report places that appear misleading, inappropriate, dangerous, duplicated or otherwise problematic.
Reports may be reviewed by the administrator.
Where appropriate, we may:
- investigate content;
- amend a listing;
- remove a listing;
- remove a photograph;
- remove a review;
- restrict an account;
- suspend an account; or
- permanently terminate an account.
We are not obliged to pre-screen every submission before it becomes visible.
The presence of content in the Service therefore does not mean that we have inspected, endorsed, approved or verified it.
16. Removing or correcting content
Users should report locations that are inaccurate, unsafe, duplicated, inaccessible or otherwise unsuitable for inclusion.
Where User Content contains your personal information, you may contact us to request its correction or removal.
Requests involving personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
We may preserve useful community information after an account is deleted where lawful and appropriate, including by removing or anonymising the association with the former account.
17. Saved places and favourites
Features such as saved places and favourites are provided for convenience.
We do not guarantee that a particular location or saved item will remain available indefinitely.
18. Leaderboards and points
The Service may use non-monetary points, rankings, badges or leaderboards to recognise community participation.
Unless we expressly state otherwise:
- points have no monetary value;
- points cannot be exchanged for cash, goods or services;
- points are not property;
- points cannot be transferred or sold; and
- rankings and point systems may be corrected, reset, modified or discontinued where reasonably necessary.
There are no prizes associated with points or leaderboard positions unless separate promotional terms expressly state otherwise.
19. Third-party maps and services
The Service relies on or links to third-party technology and services, which may include Base44, OpenStreetMap, Nominatim, Google Maps, Google authentication and Apple authentication.
Those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services to the extent that matters are outside our reasonable control.
20. Availability of the Service
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical faults, third-party service failures, security issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may modify, replace or discontinue features.
Where appropriate, we will try to avoid unnecessarily disrupting users.
21. Free service
The Adventure Dog App is currently provided free of charge.
At launch there are no:
- subscriptions;
- paid accounts;
- in-app purchases;
- advertising arrangements;
- paid featured locations; or
- affiliate programmes.
We may introduce paid or commercial features in the future.
If doing so materially changes your legal relationship with us, we will provide appropriate terms and information before those features apply to you.
22. Our intellectual property
Except for User Content and third-party material, intellectual property rights in the Service, including its branding, software, design and original content, belong to us or our licensors as applicable.
You may use the Service for its intended personal purposes.
You must not copy, reproduce, commercially exploit or redistribute substantial parts of the Service except where permitted by law or with our permission.
23. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where we reasonably believe this is necessary because:
- these Terms have been materially or repeatedly breached;
- the Service is being abused;
- fraudulent or malicious activity is occurring;
- other users or the Service may be at risk;
- we are legally required to do so; or
- continued access would expose us or others to unreasonable legal or security risk.
Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue.
Serious misconduct may justify immediate action.
24. Deleting your account
You may initiate account deletion through:
Profile → Settings → Delete Account
Deleting your account may not automatically remove all community contributions.
Places, reviews and associated photographs may be retained where lawful and reasonably necessary to preserve the community database.
Personal account/profile information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
You may contact us at theadventuredogapp@gmail.com regarding deletion of personal information contained within previous contributions.
25. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot lawfully be excluded;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, The Adventure Dog App provides a platform for community-generated information and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, safety or continued availability of user-submitted information.
We are not responsible merely because user-provided information subsequently proves inaccurate, provided this does not exclude responsibility that the law requires us to bear.
You remain responsible for assessing real-world conditions and deciding whether to visit a location or undertake an activity.
26. Events outside our reasonable control
We will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control to the extent permitted by law.
This can include failures of communications networks, hosting providers, mapping services and other infrastructure on which the Service reasonably depends.
27. Privacy
Our processing of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms.
28. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect:
- changes to the Service;
- new functionality;
- legal or regulatory requirements;
- security requirements; or
- reasonable changes to how the Service operates.
Where a change materially affects existing users, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.
The date at the top identifies the latest version.
29. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections and rights concerning jurisdiction that apply to you under applicable law.
Nothing in this section removes rights that cannot lawfully be removed by contract.
